Northwest Women Rhythm & Blues

Day 01

Main Stage

2:00 PM

Guitarist Sonny Hess has curated the Northwest Women in Rhythm & Blues award-winning all-star shows at Waterfront Blues Festival for nearly two decades, featuring not only the region’s top female performers but also exposing new talent to the region’s blues scene.

Sonny has put together another stellar lineup for the “Sail on Sister” Cruise, Saturday afternoon July 2: Lisa Mann, two-time BMA Award-winning artist, on vocals and bass; Seattle vocalist Lady A, who’s been compared to Tina Turner and Chaka Khan for her raw power; Rae Gordon, five-time winner of the Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award for Best Vocalist; powerhouse vocalist Lady True Blue; the up-and-coming Angel James, lead vocalist for FunkTown PDX; New York vocalist, tambourine-player (Four Tops), and music-business attorney, Judy Tint; guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Kathryn Grimm (who in addition to leading her own bands, with Hess forms half of the duo, Strum Broads); and Kelly Pierce on drums.
