Norman Sylvester

Day 01

Main Stage

2:00 PM

Playing their unique showcase of blues, R&B, soul and funk for over 40 years now, The Norman Sylvester Band stays true to their motto: “It ain’t nothing but a party!”

The band was at the very first Waterfront Blues Festival (originally Rose City Festival) in 1987, when a promoter gave them the opportunity to open for BB King. They’ve since shared stages with James Cotton, Tower of Power, Buddy Guy, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, and Peter Frampton among others. Current band members include the original “Boogie Cat” Norman Sylvester, dynamic vocalist (and Sylvester’s daughter) Lenanne Miller, original bass man Rob Shoemaker, drummer Donald Taylor, keyboard player Jeff Otto, and horn players Peter Moss, Shoehorn, and Renato Caranto.
