Lydia Pense is a legendary product of the 1960s musical renaissance in San Francisco, when Fillmore promoter Bill Graham heard her and was so blown away by her huge range, fiery performance and funky sound, he immediately signed the band to his new record label. The band released a string of albums in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, sometimes collaborating with Tower of Power, and became an institution among American funk and R&B bands.

Fifty years later, the band hasn’t lost a thing. Lydia Pense & Cold Blood are recording and touring at the top of their form, and 2016 saw the release of the critically acclaimed Soul of the Gypsy. This year the band celebrates 50 years of working together and making some of America’s greatest, funkiest music.
