“Triumphant, joyful blues-soaked R&B…one of the most soulful, honest singers ever” Blues Revue

“Inspired, powerful R&B showcases Salgado’s exceptional range and muscular, soulful vocals” –Billboard

Rough Cut is an album about survival. In its contents we find some of America’s greatest blues songs, performed by some of its greatest artists. If Rough Cut from Curtis Salgado and Alan Hager doesn’t garner every award there is this year, then there is no justice in the world.” – American Blues Scene

Curtis Salgado’s inspired vocals and world-class harmonica playing have been devastating audiences around the world for over 30 years. Alan Hager’s spellbinding guitar expertise has been wowing fellow musicians from his hometown of Portland, Oregon and beyond for decades. Hager has been jamming with Salgado since 2003, and joined Curtis’ band full-time in 2015.

Together, the two blues fans and friends have recorded Rough Cut, a stripped-down album featuring a potent mix of newly written, timeless originals and carefully chosen blues covers. “We did it for the love of the music,” says Salgado. “This is where our hearts are. These are deep songs that we love to play.” Soulful, sparse and haunting, Rough Cut is a blues lover’s dream come true–a moving exploration of the joyful, emotionally uplifting power of passionately played and soulfully sung acoustic blues.” “This type of music moves us the most,” says Salgado. “You believe it when you hear it.”
